Writing about resolutions for April aiming less stress and more energy I choose a couple of books to support. Here they are:
The ABC of Mindfulness (this is my transcription of the German name) by Jessica Wilker
Or about the mindful acting with normal feelings.
It is step by step explanation of mindfulness and its practising. The book describes eight days program for the very basic steps of mindful acting each day you are practising one step.
I read a book a couple of years ago, at the time I was heartbroken, unmotivated and endlessly sad. It helped me to overcome the drama at the end of a love and to find the joy in my life again.
Now I am not heartbroken at all, but I think it would be a real help to bring more calmness in my mind and to slow down my daily schedule.
I will extend the practice of each step up to tree days each. So, by the end of the month, I will get all eight levels done.

Peace is every step by Thich Nhat Hanh
I started reading the book years ago but didn’t finish it for some reason. It is a selection of short stories and poems written by Thich Nhat Hanh, who is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, poet, teacher and a peace activist. I remember that the book was very relaxing for me to read it and made me think about simple everyday activities like washing my hands, in a very peaceful way. I don’t remember more than the memory of this feeling, but I think this a good enough reason to put it on the list for the month.
I mentioned this guy a few times already — Eckart von Hirschhausen, the book is called Happiness loves company.
It is a happiness book, yes, but it is also a motivational, relaxing, and very funny book. I read it years ago as well and I learned a lot. For example thinking most of the time negatively, would make you feel negative, sooner or later or in his words: the soul takes on the colour of your thoughts. The example about sports is described in yesterday’s post about habits. There are a few more good nuggets which I am happy to share with you over the next weeks.
